The Community Foundation board members serve without pay and represent the population of our region. They are community leaders who are involved in numerous organizations and live across all parts of Southern Illinois.

CEO/Executive Director
Byram Fager accepted the position of CEO in 2018, having previously served on the foundation board in different capacities since 2009. Byram brings experience having served on other boards and fundraising committees both in Illinois and while living in Ohio for 12 years. Byram was born in Murphysboro, IL, and currently resides in Metropolis, IL.
Michelle Snyder joined SICF in 2020, bringing nonprofit governance, fundraising and programming experience . Michelle’s program focus is the NonProfit Network, including GiveSI and the Southern Illinois Leadership Institute. Michelle resides in Carbondale, IL.
Matt joined SICF in 2022. Matt’s focus is on the SICF Scholarship Program. Matt resides in Marion, IL.
