THE MISSION

Rend Lake Bike Path

This fund was created to raise funds for the creation and maintenance of bike trails at Rend Lake. The Rend Lake Bike Trail was designated as a National Recreation Trail in 2008. It consists of three discontinuous trails that wind around nearly half of the second largest man-made lake in the state of Illinois. Future trail plans include connecting the three sections. Bikers ride through woodlands, meadows, across a river, and pass a beach, marina and campgrounds. To reach the Rend Lake Visitor Center from I-57, take Exit 71 and turn west onto State Route 14. Go west for 2.7 miles and turn right onto Rend City Road. Proceed 2.9 miles to Rend Lake Dam Road, turn left and immediately back right into the parking lot.
