THE MISSION

This fund has been established for the express purpose of supporting improvements to properties owned and managed by the City of Carbondale that operate as public parks, open spaces, or other recreational spaces and in addition, to assist with providing recreational programming opportunities.

 

City of Carbondale Parks & Recreation

The fund was established by the City of Carbondale Parks & Recreation Foundation Committee, a diverse group of volunteers, working together to make improvements to the City of Carbondale Parks and Recreation facilities.

Typical Areas of Interest

  • Walking/Biking Trail Maintenance & Improvements

  • Signage to identify the park and its components

  • Benches, tables, pavilions, bike racks, sports-related fixtures (frisbee golf stands)

  • New or maintenance to playground equipment (accessible for physically challenged a priority)

  • Anything that enhances the general use and upkeep of the park for the community

  • Trees, plantings, seeding, and related materials needed to maintain and beautify parks

  • Capital improvements on parks properties

  • Sponsorship of Recreational Programs
