This scholarship fund is a lasting memorial in honor of Rene Shelton, for the benefit of scholarship winners of the Miss Illinois Scholarship Organization.
Rene Shelton Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is created in memory of Rene Shelton, who among many things was the Director of the Miss Capital City Scholarship program. Rene was a devoted leader, mentor, and friend whose passion for empowering young women helped shape the lives of many contestants throughout our program. Her warmth, generosity, and dedication to our mission will never be forgotten. This scholarship will continue that legacy each June as it is awarded to a Miss Illinois contestant.
