Massac County Academic Scholarship Fund

Every year since 1986 deserving seniors from Joppa High School and Massac County High School have been recognized for their hard work and academic accomplishments.  With the collective support of many businesses, organizations, churches, professionals and private donors, over $287,000 has been awarded to over 360 students.

This scholarship fund was originally established by the Kiwanis Club of Metropolis, IL.  In 2012 the Metropolis Rotary joined the effort which has increased the amount of money that can be awarded.  In 2014, $20,000 was awarded to the top 13 applicants in amounts ranging from $1,250 to $1,750.
